Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Jacobs is one of Miami’s most renowned plastic surgeons. His experience spans nearly three decades and his training is amongst the best. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his General Surgery residency at the esteemed Boston University Medical Center where he was also Chief Resident in General Surgery. Dr. Jacobs completed his plastic surgery residency at the world famous Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Following his serving as Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, he received additional training in cosmetic surgery at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospital in New York City.
The vibrant culture, the diverse population posing unique medical opportunities, and Miami’s status as a Gateway to the Americas attracted Dr. Jacobs to South Florida. In January of 1990, he launched his own practice, Miami Beach Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery Center. The Center has treated over 10,000 patients from all over the world, and Dr. Jacobs himself has worked with some of Hollywood’s most notable names. Boasting state-of-the-art operating facilities, services range from Breast Augmentation, Breast Lifts, Abdominoplasties, Liposuction, and Facelifts to less invasive procedures like Restylane and Botox.
Along with his private practice, Dr. Jacobs is an Assistant Clinical Instructor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami and is former Chief of Plastic Surgery at Miami Heart Institute on Miami Beach. He is a member of the staff at many hospitals throughout Miami-Dade County, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is Board Certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Additionally, he is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Greater Miami Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Jacobs has written and co-authored numerous articles on plastic surgery and has presented papers before national groups of plastic surgeons. He has been a guest on several nationally televised talk shows, including The Maury Povich Show and Univision’s Cristina. He is repeatedly consulted and quoted by local television news reporters and has been named by The New York Times “the plastic surgeon who has been entrusted with keeping Miami Beach beautiful”.
Dr. Jacobs is married and has four children. Dr. Jacobs along with his wife, Robin, are active members of the community belonging to numerous organizations both philanthropic and public. Dr. Jacobs dedication to others is unyielding and in March was appointed to the Miami Beach Health Advisory Board. Dr. Jacobs enjoys many hobbies outside his work including scuba diving, flying, and crossword puzzles.
